WINEMAKER GLENN JAME’S COMMENTS:

COLOUR: Brilliant pale yellow with hints of green tinges.

BOUQUET: Subtle lemon citrus characters are complexed with fine vanillin oak.

PALATE: Barrel fermentation in new French oak barriques together with malolactic fermentation have contributed adding complexity and softness, with a creamy mouthfeel. Refined elegance with underlying flavour strength and intensity are the hallmarks of this exceptional Australian style Chardonnay.

CELLARING: The wine will develop further flavour complexity with 3-5 years cellaring.

Eileen Hardy OBE, is fondly remembered as the matriarch of Australia’s best known winemaking and sailing family. Today she is immortalised by the annual release of one of Australia’s great white wines, Eileen Hardy Chardonnay. Fruit sourced from Australia’s premier viticultural regions is carefully selected to form the many components of this complex unique wine, which when combined with judicious and expert winemaking results in a wine of rare quality.

Access to all of Australia’s premier cool climate viticultural regions allows the winemaking team at Hardys to select the very finest Chardonnay fruit in the country. A higher proportion of Adelaide Hills cool climate fruit sees this wine’s style evolve to better reflect Australia’s potential for great Chardonnay wines.
