The Cabernet Sauvignon from the 2000 was extremely low yielding with very small berries. Weather conditions were hot and dry, producing wines with dense ripe fruit flavours and fine supple tannins. Parcels from Punters V+A vineyard and  Cellardoor vineyards were combined and matured in Seguin Moreau Nevers (42%) and Russian (37%) and American(21%) oak for 22 months prior to bottling.
Strong red-purple in colour, the bouquet is dark blackberry fruit and ripe cassis with sweet lifted timbery, vanillan oak. The palate has tight grained cassis fruit and a rich full body with supple tannins on the finish. An outstanding wine from an excellent vintage this wine will cellar for up to eight years and would complement any hearty beef dishes.

Dense red-purple; in the mainstream of the Punters Corner style with ripe blackcurrant, cassis and mulberry fruit on the bouquet, and similar dense flavours plus a touch of dark chocolate on the palate; again consistently with the style, oak is present but plays a secondary role.
